No (we are not worried about the haemoglobin)..likely post-op dilution….No to transfusion
In terms of causes of the thrombocytopaenia we are worried about Infection, drugs, HIT (Heparin Induced thrombocytopaenia) as the most likely cause with HIT needing action straight away. Clearly you will need to look for sepsis and drug causes at the same time.

What will you do if you suspect HIT?
