It's 2am. Mrs Joan White is a 72 year old lady admitted to the admissions unit with a 2 day history of increasing shortness of breath, fever and increased sputum production.
She has a PMH of COPD (with LTOT) and was previously admitted with hypercarbic respiratory failure.
ECG – Sinus tachycardia- nil acute
CXR –see below
He has been commenced on 35% oxygen and in addition the SpR has also asked you to prescribe the following
DOB- 9. 11.42
Ward D40- Central General Hospital
C/O Dr Jones
Prescribe the drugs on a standard drug chart so that it is ready to give to the nursing staff
